Rik Mills is an emergency management practitioner and advisor with 20 years of experience across operational command, coordination, capability development and organisational preparedness.
His experience spans wildfire, severe weather, public health emergencies, evacuation, repatriation, quarantine, remote-area operations and complex multi-agency incidents across Australia.
Rik has worked across state-level coordination and prolonged operational events involving community displacement, critical supply disruption, essential service interruption and significant public, political and organisational scrutiny.
That operational background is supported by postgraduate study in crisis leadership, strategic leadership and management, bringing together field experience with a broader understanding of decision-making, organisational capability and leadership under pressure.
Through Resolve Emergency Management, Rik works with resource operators, critical infrastructure providers, government agencies and emergency management organisations to strengthen readiness, improve operational systems, test capability and develop leaders for high-consequence environments.
