The value of training for emergencies

“Victory usually goes to the army who has better trained officers and men.”

Sun Tzu

We’ve all heard the age-old saying. Train hard, fight easy; train easy, fight hard.

In crises, every second and every minute counts.

That’s why realistic, practical and hands-on training which is undertaken regularly is critical to build team, business and systemic resilience.

What does good training look like? Well, our team is committed to building interactive and tailored content, but great content isn’t enough. People remember the way the training was delivered, how they were valued and challenged, the odd situational anecdote and humour, and the stories shared with peers and facilitators. This sticks with participants, and hopefully this impact means the training is ingrained to memory and is easier to recall in times of stress and uncertainty.

Experience breeds stories, stories provide connection and engagement, and provide case studies to consider what went well, and what didn’t go so well… Our facilitators are experienced across a range of hazards and contexts, providing meaningful expertise to share and connect.
